Hey Congrats on getting accepted! Curious to know if its going to be AFI or LFS for you!

So, I am applying this week to LFS and could really use some inputs since you got admitted very recently. First things first, I really do not have any short film to submit, although I have a minor in Film Studies where I did pretty well. I hold a certificate in fundamentals in screenwriting. I have three good recommendations, from two of my professors in college (one of the is a revered film critic) and one from the professor who taught screenwriting and also picked me in the writing department for her web series. Do you think these would be enough? I also have a couple of short scripts, which I believe really project my vision as a filmmaker.

PS : I am currently trying to make a short film with my younger sister handling the camera and me acting in it, all thanks to the lockdown here in India. Let's just say, it is not panning out quite the way it should, but we're trying. :P

Thank you very much! Well, AFI is my first choice ahaha

Are you applying to the filmmaking program right? Because I applied for the screenwriting program and I personally think that the whole process is different. I mean, you have to submit many things I didn't have to and the other way around (but on this website there are many people who actually applied to the filmmaking program!)

But, about the recommendations, it's okay to have good ones, BUT, personally speaking, it's not really important. They want to know you, your story, your writing, your creativity and experiences. Yes, of course a good word from your professors could be helpful, but it's not vital, if you get what I mean.

Ahahaha first, good luck with your application and of course with your short film, I bet it's going to be amazing!

Hi i have a question. Do you remember what they asked you during your interview? I have my interview with LFS on Thursday and I want to get ready for it.

Thanks for adding your application! When you get a moment can you update your application in our database with you age, undergraduate field of study, and film experience level? (There are new searchable selectable options for each) Thank you!
