Hi! CONGRATULATIONS!!

I am from India and want to get into a top film school. I am very confused, to be honest. I have some questions. It would be of great help if you clear some of my doubts.

What kind of portfolio do you have? What is that they expect from their students? How was your interview round?

Please let me know. Thank you!!

My portfolio was pretty basic as far as film materials go, however please keep in mind that i don’t have much of a frame of reference for comparison. I two videos: one 4Min comedy sketch that was a fairly basic back and forth between two characters, and a fan music video of similar length that was far more dynamic. Neither were over US$400 budget wise.

As far as what they expect I can’t really say, I’m not sure what drew their attention. I applied as best I could and hoped for the best. I was confident in my references and undergraduate GPA. My CV was also fairly decent since I’d been able to work semi-professionally on set for the preceding year.

Regarding the interview, it was very very casual. It felt more like a way to filter red flags than as a final test. I was asked about my personal interests and tastes and the whole thing lasted about 15 min.

let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck with your application!
