NYU Tisch General Admissions Requirements for Graduates for 2026 Entry

Ready to apply to NYU Tisch for graduate film? In addition to the program-specific creative materials, applicants must fill out the General Tisch Graduate Application. Read the general application requirements taken directly from the University's website:
  1. Complete the General Application: Fill out the application and pay the non-refundable $65 application fee online.
    • Applicants for whom the application fee poses a hardship can request a waiver by sending an email to the Director of Graduate Admissions, Joe Miserendino (jm7@nyu.edu). In your email, be prepared to explain the nature of the hardship and provide evidence supporting your request for a waiver.
  2. Provide Copies of Transcripts: Provide records from any schools in which you received a college degree or attended for two or more years.
  3. Supply Two Letters of Recommendation: Supply letters from from academic, artistic or professional references.
  4. Upload Professional or Artistic Resume: Include an overview of your professional and/or creative background.
  5. Complete Statement of Purpose: For more information, review your intended program of study.
The GRE is not required for admission, but applicants to the MFA in Game are welcome to provide their GRE Scores. However, applicants who do not provide their GRE scores will not be penalized in any way. Along with the above requirements, international students also must follow the requirements as outlined in NYU's International Application Requirements page.
