Add your first Blog Entry

This entry is in the series How to create a Blog on FilmSchool.org
So you've created a Blog Home page and had some fun with page tabs... now let's write your first post.

Blog entries can be:
  • An introduction about yourself and why you're into film and what you want to do
  • Updates on your application process
  • Chronicling the shooting of a film
  • Chronicling the writing of a script
  • Blog about your experiences while at film school
  • Random musings
You can even create a "Series" which is a group of related blog entries that are related to each other. (Chronicling writing of a script or shooting a film or your application process)

Step 1 - Post entry

Click the "Post Entry" button on the Blog main page or your own Blog home page.

If there's a category that you'd like added please let me know.

Step 2 - Title your blog entry

My first day of film school, first day of shooting my film, my day writing my script...etc anything you want. See examples of previous blog entries here.

Step 3 - Write your blog post

Now you can write your amazing blog post. Write a post on why you are applying to film school or chronicle your experience applying or making your film. You can even create a "Series" with blog entries about a certain topic. (shooting a film etc)

Step 4 - Attach and insert your images.

Attach an image that is either owned by you or a stock photograph that you want to be included in your post. The first image you upload will be the blog entry cover image but you can change it later if you want.

Like this:

Once you attach the file, then be sure to then "Insert" the image into the "Blog details" text box.

If you click on the "Insert" on the attachment image you can either insert it as a thumbnail of a full image. Be aware that the full image will be big so you can use the following icon to resize it:

And even this icon to align it and have it wrap around text:

Step 5 - Tag your blog post

Be sure to tag your post as well so people can find it. For example "USC" or "cinematography"
