I just got my acceptance to LMU today! I actually heard it through Anna (email), who said that perhaps they sent it to a wrong address, which is why I hadn't heard anything. Hopefully I get it through the mail soon.

So for anyone else still waiting, I'd email her to find out what's up.

Still nothing on my end. I did email the financial aid office and they told me graduate packages should be available starting mid-May and no later than than June 1st, which contradicts the information I got from the same office about a month ago...

Got some changes in PROWL, I clicked in the financial aid status and see only a Cost of Attendance and the number is quite less than 28k (estimated tuition). I don't know whether it has anything to do with financial aid since I didn't apply anything, maybe the number is just for the first term?

Hey! I'm one of those lucky waitlist letter recipients as well haha. Anyone know if there's still a shot for one of us to get in? (MFA Writing for the Screen program)

Would love to join some of you guys at LMU! But there's always next year!

@Bmoc22 Apparently my official letter keeps getting a little messed up, so it's only been sent out last Friday. I have three weeks after the letter is sent out to put in a deposit. Although I am going, I assume there are others like me that are only now receiving official offer letters and could be declining them, thus opening spots up :) Hope you get in!

I live just above the Culver City area and I love it. Culver has a great downtown with restaurants/bars, movie theater, coffee shops, farmer's market on Tuesdays, Trader Joe's - basically a lot of great things. While Culver itself can be a bit harder to find apartments cheaply, if you search for the immediate areas around it - mainly "Palms" - there are usually some good options. I used to live in the Palms neighborhood area too and the apartment was not the nicest (but cheap!) but I did like the area and felt safe.
I lived in Palms for 8 years... great neighborhood... they built the awesome Culver City downtown and Trader Joes while we were living there so it was like Christmas every few months. :) Now there's a train stop right by it too so it should be super easy to get to Santa Monica... I'm not sure how far LMU is from the SM station but maybe you could bike it.

My wife went to LMU as a grad student (not film related) and commuted from Palms and found the commute fine... this was before the train though... then the train was only a whisper of a dream. :)
