Sorry for bothering you again. While it is normal that interview requests are not continuing to be sent over the weekend, I'm still curious about the status of appointments for interview slots right now because the first available date seems to be next Monday.

Are most of the dates and time period still available at this moment, or are they all filled?

Yes most of date are still available and they also offer in person interview.

Hi, so I applied to Chapman for their MFA in Film Production (Directing emphasis), it definitely doesn't seem like it was many of us. I do think they have an underrated program even though it's number ranked in the top 5 for most publications. The flat tuition could be very beneficial as you could take as many classes as you want. I haven't received any info about an interview but I know it's not a requirement for entry like AFI and NYU. Did anybody else apply to other programs?

I have applied to NYU too. I think interview is necessary for NYU Graduate Film according to info on its website and past years’ threads.

All applicants admitted by Chapman directing MFA were also requested to take an interview in past years. It seems unusual this year because only one reported to receive interview invitation. Last year, more than 5 students posted in the threads that they received invitations on the same day(Feb. 4).

And Chapman is actually my safety school this year so I’m quite nervous on it since I haven’t heard back anything about interviews.

Chapman is 100 percent my safety school but at the same time I wouldn’t be upset if I went there. AFI and NYU are my first and second choice. I feel like they focus on international students first. I was in a graduate informational for them last week and they said that most people don’t find out they’re admitted until like April. So there’s definitely time to hear for an interview. I haven’t heard back from NYU but I don’t think anybody really has yet.

So I think it’s totally possible that the interview invite could go out at different times for different professors if that makes sense? And the email just said Film MFA, but I’m assuming it’s for writing for film and tv lol.

Not required for the past few years, but it is possible. Screenwriting is required to take interviews since last year.

Just saw it. yeah I think there wasn’t an extension last year. If so, it might be reasonable that Chapman’s reviewing time takes longer than usual.
