Pros
  • Professors don't restrict what subject/genre can be filmed for student projects unless you are in Pr
  • The professors who still work in the business actually live in Los Angeles and fly in once a week.
Cons
  • Some professors have been out of the business for a long time
I attended this school from Jan 2015 to Dec 2016 after transferring in from a community college. Overall, I had a great experience. As with any college, you will have professors/instructors that you hate and are full of themselves. One thing about this school that really annoyed me is, when students skip half the semester they still get A's. It seems like a lot of professors just give a blanket grade to the entire class. The horror movie class in the summer semester is great. It's taught by the writer/director of Puppet Master.
RateMyProfessor is a great website to determine what classes to take. Stay away from any classes taught by West McDowell and/or May Luong and any production classes taught by and Kynan Dias. Any other classes taught by Kynan are absolutely great. Jason, the guy who runs the equipment room and teaches some classes, is always willing to help students outside of class. Very approachable. Take any class you can with Professor Sean Clark. He is by far the best professor there.
