a resume should be no longer than 1 page. Unless you have an exceptional career that you are somehow unable to prune from your resume, keep it at 1 page.
a CV is really only required if you have more job history than y ou can put in the resume. So if you have say, 3 jobs/films on your resume but...
you get help getting an internship while you're at chapman. but Scott Arundale, one of the professors there also has a fb group that he invites chapman alums into and he posts internship opportunities and job ops from time to time.
remember, internships are generally only accepted when you're...
networking, yes. connections that got me freelancing gigs.. sort of, kind of. I haven't actually worked with chapman students in my own year, but I have worked with other chapman people from different years.
freelance gig wise, I first would recommend you get your ears onto the pulse of...
i enjoyed it. I did a lot of editing there and also got to watch my peers' work. I learned from what they did right and wrong.
no you don't generally get jobs right out of college. remember this is a freelance career. you need to build a reputation and work your way up from being an assistant...
yeah.. well it was kinda expected on who will be the "winner"
tbh squid game doesn't really show much other than the classic korean style hyper violence that harkens back to the early days of korean cinema. great if you like gore and violence, but I feel like there is some parts that are lacking...
i didn't watch the entirety of squid game but saw snippets of it and then the last episode.
I dont understand why it's such a hit when I feel like there are other variations out there that are more interesting, imho.
I also still dislike the main character through and through. I feel like he is...

the slate article goes into how the translators botched the whole culture...
haha it's weird though, what i read was that the translation didn't make much sense the way it is. if they corrected it, it would still make sense and maybe even more sense.
let me see if ic an find that article
I watched the first episode so far, I always watch in original dub + subs for any foreign language works.
Personally... first half of episode 1 was obnoxiously too long and really need a serious cut down. We get the point after 10 minutes of showing what a scumbag the main guy is.
I also did...
I went to Chapman for my masters in editing.
I did 2 internships. 1 at Bravo Digital and 1 at a vfx house. It was an interesting to see how Bravo worked, atleast on their digital side.
it took me almost a full year of doing 1-2 week gigs (and months of no jobs) before I landed a 3 week gig that...
Chapman alum here.
in fact, chapman has a great reputation in the industry. we're in the top 10 film school of the country and we have plenty of alums who have made it big and are actual alums, not honorary alums.
My first few jobs got comments that "chapman people have a good reputation for...
You telling me all this and have no video to the deeds? C'mon! how are we supposed to make bets if we don't get to see the fight!
I expect at minimum this:
Guys and Gals, please note that while this is the internet, we are also communicating in text. As such, we are missing A LOT of elements of a regular conversation like facial expression, tone of voice, and body language.
I don't believe this thread is meant to be some sort of ruler to measure if...
