As someone who did not apply to Columbia, I think NYU has more people actively working in the field historically and still today. There's at least one NYU grad every year that has a feature come out and do super well...
I've also heard/read bad things about the Columbia program...
Process was good. I loved the interviewers. The department chair called me in the afternoon to let me know I had gotten in and then my letter and fin aid was available the following day
Also seems like they usual call for acceptances with grad film? versus the writing people got it via portal?
and I thought I read on some past year that they call in the evening...? not in the middle of the day?
so possible for it to still happen tonight even ...
It's been slightly weird. I don't feel like the interviewer was very interested in me or my work. I also haven't heard from actual Feirstein people yet. I only got a generic Brooklyn College granulations email.
I got in a couple of days ago but have heard nothing from the actual Feirstein faculty or program director. Also no information about aid or finances has been made available... ?
Has anyone else heard anything?
Ugh that’s unfortunate. Fingers crossed! They might be tired tbh….given they’ve been at it for weeks at this point but no excuse.
Im wondering if Julia cut you off ? Asking because she cut me off a few times and it was a little jarring but still seemed friendly…wondering if that’s just her way.
I just had my interview...I felt it went extremely well but we'll see... !!
Questions.
1. What are you proud of from your short film? What would you change/what are not proud of? How did you collaborate with your crew? What was a moment of tension with your crew and how did you resolve it...
are you based in the U.S. or international? people have been speculating that the first date is for international students and the second date is for domestic...
I got Feb 5 and I'm based in NYC
