Getting into the program at UT is extremely competitive and grades play a major factor.
I am not sure about the other schools. The only reason I would consider Austin is if you want to work in Texas. There is work but not really enough to work full time at it. The other places you will starve...
My roommate attended NYFA back around 2007. Whatever program that is around now is much better than what they had back then. She is an amazing 1st AD and turns down work.
Go to Berkley. You are still in California, are getting a real degree and can PA in your non-existant free time as an architecture student. Maybe during the summers if you have a light course load. You can always get an MFA after your undergrad. IMO if you are trying to break into the film...
A lot of the DP's I know started as grips, then moved to gaffer and then to DP. One guy I know got his undergrad at Yale then started gripping. In the last 7 years he has DP'd over 30 features.
Never heard of the school. Are you able to attend school in the UK or US?
I hear the Nigerian film market is crazy right now. Lots of films being produced for $5000USD that end up making between $100K-$500K.
