Admitted (Off Waitlist After Interview) AFI SCREENWRITING 2022

It’s gone really well! AFI is my dream but I honestly never imagined I would get in straight out of undergrad. The interview was so incredible. I felt so inspired and respected as a true writer. I felt very encouraged to be given a spot on the waitlist but, again, never would have thought I’d...

Admitted (After Interview) MA Screenwriting - 2023

We had to submit twenty pages of our own written work, along with answering a few questions. They also asked for two references, but they only need to submit their letters when you have been asked to interview. I found some of the questions quite hard as they were quite general. But my friend...

Admitted (Off Waitlist After Interview) Chapman MFA Screenwriting

I was initially waitlisted back in March. I was then asked to interview in the second week of May. Soon after I got. the acceptance letter. The turnaround was quick. I was applying to 3 other schools so I had my basic application done but then I tailored it to the different schools.

Admitted (After Interview) LMU SFTV TV writing and producing

It was pretty smooth. I spent 3 months working on the application's creative writing supplements and I had a draft of my first full-length screenplay that I spend a year writing. My creative writing supplements were extension of personal creative writing projects. I tailored them for the prompts.

Waitlisted (After Interview) MFA Columbia Screenwriting/Directing

Quite a lengthy application, with a lot of written samples. All of it was pretty enjoyable to write, definitely enjoyed the process although stressful! Very happy to be waitlisted, Columbia is the dream so hoping I hear some good news soon.

Admitted (After Interview) Columbia Directing/Writing Program 2022Fall MFA

I felt so warm and happy! All the faculty members are so nice and warm, and they read and watched my materials very carefully, and asked me a lot questions based on the details about my application materials! Anyway, I'm so grateful to be accepted by Columbia!

    Applied USC Screenwriting

Last March, I decided to apply transfer to USC screenwriting program. During that time, I went on an almost suicidal rampage by writing a short 10-pages-screenplay per week (by this time, I think I wrote over 500 pages). My college doesn't offer a screenwriting program or a film club, so I...

    Interviewed MFA FILM - 2022 - Columbia

It has been pretty easy for me as I had most of the documents prepared beforehand. Having a diverse filmmaking experience helped me with the visual portfolio. Hoping for the best ✌🏼

    Interviewed Columbia University - MFA Screenwriting/Directing - 2022

Smooth process - straightfoward application/etc, nothing out of the ordinary. Take note, they require a specific font for the application components.

Admitted (After Interview) Chapman MFA TV Writing & Producing - Fall 2022

Smooth process - straightfoward application/etc. For the creative writing component they require narrative/novel format rather than script format - I enjoyed this change of pace compared to other applications.

Admitted (w/o Interview) Boston University - Screenwriting Fall 2022

Straightforward and a little more laid back compared to film directing/production apps that often require a visual sample. Most unique part was its video interview portion which I appreciated.

    Waitlisted (w/o Interview) Boston University

I completed everything quickly and had a interesting time stuttering through that video part of the application. I did have some issues with submitting my recommendation letter so I had to contact the comgrad via email to confirm everything

Admitted (After Interview) AFI Screenwriting 2022

Second time applying after not getting an interview last year. My interview this year was very conversational and laid back, but only lasted 20 minutes. We talked about my application materials, but I wasn't asked to pitch anything on the spot.

Admitted but Not Attending (After Interview) Brooklyn College

I spent a lot of time waiting for recommendation letters to come in once I completed all my portfolio work. The UI for the website is a bit unflattering and Brooklyn College makes you pay to submit things in this other website

Admitted but Not Attending (w/o Interview) Emerson College

I decided to apply to Emerson College last minute after I finished my applications to BU, Columbia, and Brooklyn College. I already had more my recommendations and portfolio organized plus Emerson doesn't ask for any extra writing like other colleges do, so I quickly submitted it after I read an...
