2007 Accepted? Rejected?

Weird timing, Sa. They must have given me your spot at USC because I just got the call for getting off the fall waitlist today. Very exciting for me, but also congrats to you for making a definitive decision. NY here you come!

Hey guys I am new to this whole thing. To give you a little background on myself I am 22 and been accepted at AFI and waitlisted at NYU and USC. Just wondering if you actually received a phone call from USC about being pulled of the waitlist or actually a piece of mail. I have spoken to the USC admission offices as well as Michelle Taylor Dean of admissions. I am going nuts waiting. I have been in limbo for awhile now and I wish I could just get an answer. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sam...

I got a huge envelope from USC on Thursday. A little one on Monday.

And the phone call on Tuesday.

It made no sense whatsoever, but I'm going to USC, and that's all that really matters to me.

We've waited sooooooooooo long....

(sorry, my last sentence reminded me of a Counting Crows song, and that was me singing badly.)

Sam-

Which program at USC did you apply for? I know Jayimess was waitlisted for screenwriting and I was waitlisted for production. After returning the letter saying I was waitlisted for the fall (which I got on the 20th of April), I hadn't heard a single thing. Then I got a call from Michelle Taylor just yesterday saying a spot had opened and paperwork would be in the mail. So, don't give up hope just yet!

The waiting of this whole process is the worst part. It'd be one thing to hear back and have it be a rejection. That you could deal with and, in time, come to terms with. But not knowing? Nothing worse. Just keep near your phone and mailbox. I'll cross my fingers for you.

So I got offered admission to AFI today.

I told them I'm going to USC, but even so late in the game, it feels damn good to know I'm three for three!

Awesome Jayimess! That's really exciting. I'm glad getting accepted didn't sway you back into the land of indecision.

Congrats Jayimess. You're a hot commodity these days. Too bad all the other schools are missing out :)

I'm invited to the August 20th for the Graduate School, and required to go to the August 24th for SCA....how was it?

Kurt...All the new admissions director told me was that errors were made, but I am assuming that I was supposed to be waitlisted instead of rejected...and my cred ain't that sweet.

We should all plan to meet together on the 20th. We can each wear a red shirt or something or maybe just describe to each other what to look for. Someone can have a teddy bear and a rose, another person can have a bowler hat, etc.
