I'm in love with this prgram. Ask me anything! :)

I also just learned that starting in the next application period, the GRE is no longer required! I was told it was extremely competetive this year, so I can't imagine the influx there will be now that the GRE isn't required. I am here to help so ask away!

What's your favorite thing so far? When did you start?

Hello there and congrats!

I am interested in applying for the same course for next fall.

I wanted to know a few things about the program if you could kindly share-
1) How many screenwriters are admitted every year?
2) Do they select international students too with screenplays set in their own country?
and finally,
3) If they focus/select candidates based on proper narrative based tight writing full of plots/conflict/witty dialogues, the kind one mostly sees in Sundance etc or they even encourage narrative scripts which are little open in terms of following such structure?

This would really help me. Thanks a million!

Hi! I'm planning to apply to both Michener and the UT RTF screenwriting program for Fall '21 -- wondering if you have any tips on standing out for a first time applicant? Thanks so much - glad you're enjoying the program!

Lacey, just FYI. I believe Michener isn't accepting screenwriting Primary students for Fall 21.

Thank you for thinking to let me know! A friend who is applying to Michener mentioned this recently -- considering switching directions and turning my script into a short story to see what happens. Weird times all around!

Hopefully, things should get back on track for 22...I think they're trying to revamp things in the program and get more instructors. Either way, I hope it works out for you!
