I know I submitted it because I double checked with the office back in feb after I sent it in…

Oh wow that doesn’t surprise me. The whole industry has been struggling here in LA over the last year so money is scarce I guess. Have you accepted the admission and submitted anything yet?

I haven’t yet. I do plan to accept and attend. I need to get some stuff sorted with my job. I’m going to see if there is a way to keep my insurance since it’s required and maybe strike some sort of deal where I can stay on payroll but only work during breaks or something.

I also got a call from one of my interviewers. She left a really nice voicemail and then sent me a text basically reiterating everything she said since a colleague told her that younger people don't always listen to voicemails. I texted her back thanking her for the call and apologizing that I missed it. We talked this morning and she just wanted to congratulate me and asked if I had any questions, and said to feel free to reach out whenever if any questions arise.

I emailed financial aid because I hadn't gotten an email, and then they told me I wasn't getting a scholarship and that they're working on sending out more emails.

Sorry I somehow missed this. He applied for the directing track but didn’t hear back and ended up getting a rejection. So it’s just me, but we currently work together in advertising for a major grocery retailer.

I've heard the directing track often takes multiple years to get into since it's so competitive! I wonder if there's a way to keep a day job for the first year. I had asked during an admission session and didn't get much of an answer, just advised against it. Curious what the class schedule looks like.

My friend was in the directing program and was in this past graduating class. She said the first year was “physically impossible to work. We had class from 9am - 10pm daily and crewed every weekend.” But said that by her second year she was able to pick up a few shifts as a bartender.

If you’re talking about waitlist then I’d say it definitely makes sense to reach out to admissions and your interviewers to confirm that you remain very interested and absolutely will attend if admitted off of the waitlist. Definitely wouldn’t hurt and could help.

I agree though I’d maybe wait until mid to late April. Just since they won’t have everyone’s decisions for sure until April 15th. So, I doubt they will even check the waitlist until that time. Just my two cents though.

I would agree with the above, especially if you are able to be self-funded. They may not think about it, but there’s always a chance that the admissions team see someone who isn’t reliant on additional funding as more desirable once all of their scholarships have been awarded to those with places already.
