Becoming a Producer

I'm primarily interested in screenwriting, but I'm starting to think about producing. What would I need to study in order to put myself in the best position to become one? I haven't started my undergraduate studies yet, so I want to make sure I major in the right field. As of right now I want to major in History and Theater. If I wanted to become a producer, would I need to study business or economics? What would I do for grad school? Thanks

I have a business degree with minors in film and law. I'm currently a second year graduate producing student at Chapman. I think the best path is business because it's so broad. If you decide you don't want to do film, you still have experience in accounting, finance, economics, strategic development, etc.
