It's mentioned on their website that MFA program will be two years going forward. Has this been confirmed with applicants?
I’m not sure if this is true for all MFA programs, but I applied for PD and it’s 2 years. Each program should say how long it is on their individual pages on the Chapman website

I took a look at their statement on the Film Production site and it does seem like they’re trying to consolidate all of the programs down to two years - which I think would benefit all programs as a whole! Their reasoning was for more collaboration between programs which would be simpler if they were all the same length. What do you guys think about this upcoming change?

I’m applying for MFA in production with directing emphasis. No news about interviews yet. Also I did see online that the program would be shortened to two years. Didn’t see much information on it but might be a good question to ask during the interview.

Screenwriting must have been the first program to send out interview requests - I applied for production design and the head of the department reached out to me a few weeks ago with an encouraging email saying he is recommending my admission (they dont do interviews for PD). He seemed confident that official letters will come in very early March! So hopefully we will all hear back soon, this waiting period is so stressful!!

Hi, who's your favorite production designer?

Hi, who's your favorite production designer?
Sarah Greenwood has been my favorite for a while, mainly because she’s the first production designer I discovered who got me interested in the craft (I’m a big period film fan, which she has predominantly worked on it the past lol). But I just watched Marie Antoinette for the first time and WOW I was amazed. K.K. Barrett was the production designer and I’m meaning to look into more of his work
