Chapman 2024 - All MFA Programs

Thank you @Nunyabidness !! It looks like the private forums are for supporting members only, so if anyone who isn’t a supporting member would like to join a chat, I’d be happy to set that up on a messaging app

P.S. i emailed the admissions office asking when Dodge will reach out to us with more info and whether that info includes financial aid😅 i will keep you all posted on what they say!

Would those admitted be interested in joining a private forum on this site or a chat over messenger or groupme?? I’d love to connect with yall further!☺️

You can also easily do a multiple person private message on this site without needing to become a Supporting Member. :) Although Supporting Members can add more people to the conversation.

That will keep you all in touch here and keep you in the know at FilmSchool.org :)

It's as simple as adding as many members to the private conversation as you'd like. (You can always add more later)

I spoke to financial aid. All fellowships and scholarships have been awarded. If you didn't already receive one, then that means you didn't get one.

Fasfa is delayed for everyone at this moment, so it might be a while to know what aid you get. However, expect all aids to be loans.

They also just got back to me and said there’s a possibility they will have more funds to award after April 15 and that I have been added to a list of consideration for funds if so. If anyone is interested in being added to the list, i urge you to reach out to the admissions/financial aid office!

Really? That's interesting. They didn't say that over the phone or via their email response. Did this come from the admissions office or financial aid?

I just made a quick groupme for now if that works for everyone: You're invited to my new group 'Chapman MFA Fall 2024' on GroupMe. Click here to join: GroupMe
We've recently added a feature similar to GroupMe where members (any members - not just Supporting Members) can create Group Threads that only members the thread starter invites can see. :)

More features are coming soon.

Haven’t seen a general Chapman thread for this year’s applicants yet, so I thought I’d make one! Would love to connect with anyone else who has applied :)
I'm currently applying for the showrunning MFA. Anyone also applying for Chapman feel free to reach out and DM me on instagram @sammontgomery99 if you'd like. Especially if you're applying for the showrunning program. It'd be nice to go through the process alongside others.

Hey everyone,

I’m a USC Stark Program Alum, who was also accepted to Chapman, NYU, AFI and I’ve started a group to help people figure out if film school (whether it’s Stark, AFI, NYU, or any other program) is the right fit for them. I’m inviting the first few members to join for free, for life, as "founding members." If you're interested, join here: www.skool.com/debtless-film-school-6628. The goal of the group is to provide all the information I wish I had before committing to such an expensive program, help people expand their networks, and teach the skills needed to thrive in the industry.

Don’t get me wrong—film school can be a great experience under the right circumstances. However, I’ve seen too many talented people struggle after attending, whether because the program wasn’t the right fit, they couldn’t handle the financial strain, or they didn’t make the most of their time there. I want to help as many of you achieve your goals as possible. This industry is tough enough, and not enough people are being transparent about what film school can or can't do for you.

I’ve started an AMA thread—feel free to ask me anything there! If you want to talk more in-depth about your circumstances, goals, and whether film school is worth it for you, join the group and I’d be happy to help.

Whatever you choose, just know I’m rooting for you! I understand this is a nerve-wracking process, but trust that you'll find the right direction for your future.
