Consulting Expertise from a Columbia Grad with Acceptances to AFI and Other Top Film Programs

Dear Future Film Students,

I offer consulting to help you navigate the film school application process. Whether you're starting from scratch or refining your materials, I can guide you in crafting a compelling application. I’ve worked with applicants who’ve gotten into top programs—even without a formal film background.

The key is presenting your unique story. Admissions want to see that you can tell engaging stories—both in your work and your application. It’s all about strategy: your statement, scripts, films, grades, and references should all align to tell a cohesive story.

I was accepted to AFI and Columbia, by focusing on building on my strengths. I know what top programs look for and can help you make your application stand out. I know the folks on admissions committees and the students who have gotten into many schools too.

If you’d like help with your application, reach out. Let’s make the process easier and more effective, especially as deadline approach. You can find more about me in the interview I did for the site: Zeno (Columbia University MFA '24) on Storytelling and the Power of Networking (Part 1)

Just a reminder, I offer coaching to help you get into film school but, also, become competitive for scholarships once you’re there. Success in applications hinges on strategy and telling compelling stories—whether in your statement, prompt writing, or beyond.

With my background in getting into programs like Columbia University and the American Film Institute—where I gained admission and, also, received scholarships—I can help you craft an application that truly stands out.

I’m currently working with only a few clients from FilmSchool.org this year and have a couple of openings. If you're interested in this kind of support for a small fee, let’s talk. I promise to make the process smoother and less stressful, giving you the confidence you need. DM me, and we can chat

I'm incredibly grateful for reaching out to Zeno to help strengthen and refine my application. He brainstormed ideas with me and fine-tooth combed every detail of my application. Throughout the process, I also learned a lot about storytelling from his expertise. Most importantly, he genuinely cared and invested in making the application as best as possible to not only get in but also to get a scholarship. He's the go-to consultant for anyone's film app!

Thanks @cj180! Was a pleasure to work with you. Here’s to you getting accepted at your top choice!

I'm grateful for Zeno to help me with my materials. Before working together I had some ideas and concepts, but to be honest I lacked storytelling skills, even the most basic ones. Zeno gave me both specific to material criticism and general storytelling insights. Funnily, at the end, I looked at the materials and asked myself, "did I really write this?" I mean I was really amazed how much my writing got better.

Looking back, to decide to work with him was such a good idea and I would suggest it anyone who considers. Beyond the applications, I literally feel less lost about making films, as every single session we had was like a lesson for me.

Finally, he's a very funny person, and, best of all, as the the different commentator mentioned, he really cares. I'm just beyond grateful! Thanks, Zeno!

Hey All, Coaching and consulting for the final weeks before remaining grad, undergrad, and transfer deadlines is still available. I have room for two more clients and can work within your budget to help elevate your statement of purpose, prompts, films, interviews, and more. Let’s get everything polished and you ready—not just for acceptance, but ideally for scholarships too. Best to DM me. Talk soon!
