Hey!
So I am an international who's applying for MFA screenwriting in CSUN. I was wondering what the odds for someone who doesn't have any film background at all, are? My bachelors was in
a scientific field and I graduated this year. I don't have any professional experience - only a few amateur films I had done with friends, and one in production right now. Other than that, all I have
is a book I published when I was 19.
My LOR's are pretty strong though and I think my Statement of Purpose is pretty okay too although I don't have anything to measure it up against so I am not sure.
Most applicants I have come across are people with so much experience (EMMY tv show writers etc) and I feel like applying for it is ridiculous.
I was also wondering what is expected in the Sample dramatic scene prompt for the application. If anyone has anything that might show me what they are expecting please please let me know. I
am constantly worried that my work might be too frivolous for the admission board and it would be nice to know what they want.
