I've applied to Goldsmiths and London Film School for their MA Script Writing programs.
I've recently heard from Goldsmiths, and I've been accepted.

If I get accepted to both, I would go for LFS - just because they've been a lot more transparent with me about what the program is like.

If not, then I am wondering if I should take up Goldsmiths (as an international student). I have seen varying reviews and rankings that range between putting in the top 3 film programs in the UK, and putting it not even in the top 15. So PR / articles have been of little use. On this site, I had read a few positive things about Goldsmiths and that's why I had applied. But now I need to be doubly sure before I decide to spend that much. Add to that, their current financial crisis, staff layoffs, and news about fiscal mismanagement - all making me wonder. I did speak to some recent alumni (not from film programs) and they told me that apart from a few strikes - their program wasn't affected in a significant way. All this while Goldsmiths is being a bit mysterious (no webinars, no FAQ sessions) - I guess they don't want to call attention to themselves right now. But one scriptwriting alum that I spoke with, spoke highly of the quality of teaching and supportiveness of staff.

I thought after lurking on this page for so long, I should start a thread of my own.
Also feel free to reach out to me if you plan on applying for these programs next year.

Ciao,
Faizan (from Mumbai)

Hi Faizan. I'm in a similar boat to you—trying to decide between LFS and Goldsmiths screenwriting MAs, but only in the application process currently. Can I ask what you decided to do? Would love to hear about your experience either way. Many thanks!
