Yep! I applied for the TV Writing and Producting program and got an email 2 hours ago to schedule an interview for the 30th! This must be something new they are doing. Everyone check your emails, they want responses within 24 hours!

Will do. It's a 20 minute time slot just to give everyone an idea of the length of the interview. And it's a video conference interview.

I just had my interview. It went well!

They asked me how I liked my current school, Why LMU, What TV show genres am I interested in writing, What Tv shows I currently enjoy, What I would like to write... I think that's it. They then talked about all of the opportunities they create for their students. They said they are working on scholarships and will have more information in March. I'm crossing my fingers.

I think most of us want a job out of grad school and LMU REALLY focuses on getting us jobs. It was my biggest fear. Graduating and then just thinking "Now what?" LMU will prepare their students along the way.

Any other international applicants out there? I just got another email about my "transcript evaluation" which no other school required. I only sent out my Canadian transcripts and the grades were converted by the institutions, no third party required.

I'm an international applicant! They made it quite clear that they require such evaluations for international applicants on their admissions website. I think LMU and Emerson were the only ones that required this. I had my evaluation done through WES and it took approximately 3 weeks. I recommend you ask the admissions office if they could wait for your evaluation to be done . I hope everything works out for you

The sites I checked were around 100-200$ for a simple gpa conversion... I guess math really pays well. This is why I was hesitant getting this done before an accept/reject. I will call the grad office again and see if I can wait until they give me their decision. Thanks for the info!

I had the same issue. In the end, they unofficially accepted my pdf scans of previous diplomas, as well as IELTS. I guess I'll have to provide official evaluations, etc., in case they accept me and I decide to go through with it.

Just had my interview. I thought it went sooo well but as someone else had said the internet connection is a bit difficult. Hopefully that didn't disrupt the flow -

Speaking with the interviewers made me even more excited. As writerk says, they really do put such a great emphasis on helping students transition into the industry to become working professionals. That is so amazing to because for many that is the part that doesnt come as naturally as writing..

Good lucj future interviewees!

I just got an email to submit my fafsa but I sent it back in Nov. Did anyone else get this email?

I got that email, too. What I got seemed like an automated message, though. I know Columbia had a hard Feb 5th deadline for it, not sure if it would have anything to do with that, but that stuck out to me.

I have no idea about either. I think it was new that they even interviewed this year. They seem to give decisions around mid march but I really hope it's sooner. They are in my top two but I need to know if I get any funding. ?‍♀️ But if i had to guess, I highly doubt it. I didn't see many people interview on here and the acceptance rate is usually pretty high.

So much hope in me heart!!! :D yay

Yeah, the interview was definitely new to this year! I have a friend who got into the program last year and deferred acceptance for this upcoming fall and she was so surprised they added an interview. She also said last year the application deadline was in January and that the admissions email was sent out in mid-March. I would think they would move up the notification date for admission since everything else was moved up buuuuut who knows :)

Man I hope not... I heard this year they received the most applications on record. I figured they made the deadline sooner to get a head start on applications and will still send decisions out around the same time.

Looking back at the last couple years, it seems that the writing and producing acceptances are given by phone, typically on a Friday. I'm anxiously awaiting a phone call from CA to pop up today or the next two Fridays after.

Goodluck everyone!

Yeah that's what I heard too, but that is kinda weird... I never pick up phone calls I don't know lol. I hope they do email too or leave a voice mail.

Me neither! ? When I got the call from Austin, the only reason I answered was because my phone literally said Austin, Tx. There was no other reason to get a call from them so if LMU shows their location I'll pick up so fast. if it's private, I may hesitate...

Yeah I live in SoCal so getting a random call from LA isn't out of the norm for me lol. So it makes it more difficult :/
