NFTS 2014

Good luck Phil. What time of day did you receive you invite?

In terms of other invites I know that some of the other courses didn't get their invites all on the same date. I guess this is the make or break week if others have been rejected a couple of weeks ago.

One thing's for certain, I've just gone from checking my mail 4 times a day to 4 times an hour o_O

It was in the evening. I expected it to come later. I believe it is indeed make or break. Good luck to you guys, hope you make it. And cheers, I will do my best to get them on my side ;)

My boyfriend has applied for DF and hasn't received any reply yet, I think I am more anxious than him o_O

Good luck Phil!

Congrats & best of luck Phil! You're from Britain right? So you received it in the evening.. Every day at six gmt I was relieved for another day had passed. Now I'll be stressed all day ;)

In reply to Peter: Last year I got my rejection letter for cinematography both digital and physical. My invitation for DF I received per email only strangely. I'm in the Netherlands though, so it might have flown elsewhere ;) This year might be purely digital.

Good luck ya all with the stress&waiting. Will post if I hear anything! Let's hope for today..

In response to Jappr: I am unsure whether I received the invite because I am British. I do live in Belgium, so that's still a bit of mystery. So what happened last year Jappr? Are you re-applying for DF?
In response to Pete: I received an e-mail, digitally.
I guess for all of you who are waiting, it wouldn't hurt to get in touch with the school and put some pressure on the situation. This surely will not affect the outcome of your results?? Will it? :D:D

I rather asked for your country because of timezones :) wanted to make sure it was British evening as well.

Last year I had a great interview. Alas I had applied with a coproduction only, but as it was a diptych of which I directed one part and shot the second, I hoped it would not have any influence on their decision. But like they also said on the open day: please don't send in coproductions, as it is very hard for us to determine your exact part. This was, despite the diptych, also the reason I was rejected. So I made a new film for this year :)

I had my interview this week for screenwriting. It went ok but I'm not a great speaker (I write far better than I speak, heh), so not high hopes.

Also, pretty competitive this year by sounds of it, 55 interviewees to 8 places. Screenwriting's had about 150 applications, and Directing Fiction had over 300 applications!

I'd love to contact them about my application but being from the states I hesitate to call, because of calling rates, and every time I've e-mailed they take a week or two to answer me! Also, if they have had 300 plus DF applications then it may just be a bother to their staff. At this point it'd just be like pissin in the wind anyway! Cheers!

Got my screenwriting interview tomorrow, sounds tough getting one of those 8 places. Wishing you luck though! How was your interview? Was it heavily focused on discussing your script submission? I'm also intrigued to know about this "writing task" that happens pre-interview?

Still nothing on my end either. If it gets to the 15th, the original allotted interview start date and I've still got nothing I shall ring and see whats going on. Unless someone does before me, then after that Ill post up here if there is any news.

Thanks - good luck in your interview tomorrow too. Yeah, imagine it's going to be difficult for them to decide, as well.

In terms of interview, just be able to talk about your script, application and experience - from my experience I think what they choose to focus on could differ.

Re writing task, now that would be telling! It's fine, don't worry about it :)

I may have to give them a call tomorrow, as the scholarship that I applied for recently sent me a message stating that they needed to know asap if I had been accepted onto the course. The 12th is quite a significant date for this scholarship as well.
