NFTS - Directing Fiction 2026 Applicants (1 Viewer)

No I imagine that the 5 female directors can be either domestic or international. There will just be 5 female directors and 5 male directors. What it does mean though if you are a UK male director, realistically you are competing for 2/3 spaces on the course.
Ffs all that work to not apply as a Spanish citizen done for nothing 🥲

But then I guess what ever demographic you come under you will still be going for 2/3 spots.

It seems very unlikely they'd change their intake requirements for a year. A 50/50 split requirement on gender seems like a reasonable and plausible stipulation, but 50/50 AND half international AND no workshop seems very out of character and unrealistic

But the international students can be either gender, there will just be 5

Also I’m pretty sure the workshop is a myth 😂 when I’ve interviewed, you just find out 2 weeks later if you are in or out. I think they have it on other courses but not directing fiction.

Has anyone been looking at the NFTS' new MA Course that is only a single year? Seems to be launching from September 2025? Unless I am getting confused

Question about the video file for our submission - I have my film password protected on filmfreeway, so was thinking of just sending that in because I don't want to have to pay monthly for vimeo and I don't know why but I don't wanna put it on Youtube. Do you think a filmfreeway link is allowed?

You could put it up as unlisted on YouTube? If that’s still free to do

Did anyone have any issues submitting their application? Everytime I go to submit it says missing content on the further info page. I just can’t find what’s missing? It says I’m within the word count on all the questions.

Hi Chris, when I press 'log application' it doesn't come up with Jan 2026 entry, which is the cohort we would be?

The NFTS masters start in January— other schools start in September I think, but I'm not an expert there.
Ok. I'll keep it as Spring 2026 for now.
