NFTS Screenwriting - 2025 entry

Do they normally take this long to reply on interviews? Or have people who have been accepted found out already?
Yeah no, it's a bit off I think. They were later than last year in letting people know about interviews though. Either that or the few of us in this thread are patiently awaiting our rejections!

It looked like everyone finds out pretty close together if they have a spot, reserved list or rejection based on last year so I don't think anything has gone out yet.

Just got my rejection through. Best of luck to you all!
I'm sorry to hear your application didn't make it through. Keep going and best of luck to you going forward! I've just joined this forum today in order to review peoples experiences in NFTS myself and I noticed you mentioned the Finding Your Voice course. Did you have some years of experience writing, developing treatments, pitching, etc before undertaking that short course? I have my eyes set on it, but the literature around it is sparse and doesn't sell itself well. Did you find it a tough learning curve? And was it something that gave greater clarity to your next steps afterwards?

Thank you! Yes unfortunately rejection is part of being a writer!

So before I did Finding Your Voice the only experience I had was my own student films, never anything longer. Doing Finding Your Voice meant I was guided through my first full length script (a 60 page pilot) in a structured, step by step way from pitch, to outline ect.... so if that sounds like something you feel you need I'd definitely recommend.

I did have a few classmates who had done years of theatre or novel writing, but were fairly new to scripts, so it wasn't something you necessarily needed any experience for. Id say they look for passion more than anything! The technical stuff can be taught, passion not so much.

Appreciate your words and do commend you for going at it!

You've orientated my view on it to be a little less cynical so you have - thanks! Structure and completion of a script are things I wanted a practical hand at, rather than a creative, or passion-inspiring help with, so you've sided me towards it so you have.

me too, good luck everyone

Rejection received!! Good luck all!

Sorry to hear about your rejections, I found out I’m a reserve candidate but no idea how likely it is I’ll get a place, probably not very!
Sorry to hear about the rejections (and congrats on the reserve)
