I'm stuck in Williamsburg although to be fair I went to William & Mary. It's nice to see another Virginian applying to Film School.

Nothing new to report.

If anyone is interested Im keeping myself from going crazy by just living life. talking with fam, going to work / church. Thinking about getting highlights in my hair.

Haven't written anything new. Been reading some work from a friend. Guess in april if i dont get in i will go back to writing. if not i will be bust preparing my visa ect.

How are the rest of you killing time?

I'm just staying busy like you are, caribunny. Working the day job, working on a side project that will go on regardless of being accepted or rejected, hanging out with the family. And just committing, in or out, to keep writing and doing what I love.

Hey guys,

I applied to NU as well and had my interview in early February. I haven't heard anything since but acceptance notifications seem to vary widely. Accepted students have heard back as early as February 25th and as late as June. Has anyone heard conclusive news, good or bad?

There seem to be a lot fewer applicants on the forum this year than in previous years.

@fiend@myelbow Really cool that you had an interview. How was it? (dont have give all details just your general feelings about it) Did you apply to other programs? Are you straight from grad school?

As an international applicant and creator of this thread, I really hoped that more people would talk and share whats happening.

On March 15th if I don't hear anything I'll take it as I didnt get in. Normally I would have my fingers crossed until Sept 4 (day before school starts) but i have to travel to get my visa and scholarship in order so i really need early notice. the later i book my flights the more expensive it gets.

@caribunny - The interview was comparable to being on a first date with eight people. I was surprised because their questions were very general - what kind of movies and plays I'd seen this year that I'd liked and why, etc. It was so short it was hard to get a feel for the room, especially with such a large interview team. I've been out of school for two years working in New York. This is the only writing program I applied for - all the others are doctorate programs.

I don't think you should limit yourself to the fifteenth - they may be notifying late this year since so far I haven't heard of anyone hearing back either way. Dealing with the international grad school application, you might want to call Ms. Hare and let her know your situation.

I dont have anything to report.

I actually saw on the Columbia thread that someone had gotten a rejection on March 15 or 16. But that's all I've seen or heard.

EDIT - This was in the Columbia thread for March 17 actually:

I haven't heard back and I didn't even get an interview. I just got rejected from Northwestern (the only other school I had applied to) so now must probably I will be in the wilderness for at least another year. Kind of depressing

Hi, I've been a guest on this forum for a while now and thought I'd join. :)

I've applied to Northwestern's MFA Writing for the Screen and Stage program and have heard nothing at all. No e-mail, interview, or website message. 'Thinking I'm wait-listed, perhaps?

I hope this helps as it seems we're all searching for clarity/others like us!

A little history: I'm from Arkansas, went to school at Missouri State Univ., hold a BSEd in Speech and Theatre Education, working right now to save money for anything/everything.

I still haven't heard anything as well, although from what I can deduce from last year, it seems like early April is when the last of the first round of notifications comes in.

Still the last person got accepted in June, so we may have a long wait ahead of us. Northwestern is my last shot for screenwriting so these next few weeks are going to be pretty rough.

Still nothing here, either. Tried sending a message, but no reply.

I'm sorry, Caribunny =/ Best of luck in all you do!

I haven't heard anything either, sweetbeef. Seems like we should be hearing something soon, though. Hopefully, it'll be GREAT news :)
