NYU Dramatic Writing BFA 2024 (EDII)

Hello All,

I am senior in high school applying to university for the first time. I have always had an interest in stories, (in this case film and television) since I was young, but it wasn't until recently that I actually decided I wanted to study that in college. I am kinda, really, reasonably scared that I am not good enough or talented enough, especially because I am still a newbie in the aspect that I had never written a screenplay (before I started writing some for my Apps) or directed a film/video. However you never know what your future holds. If anyone wants to direct me to good examples of portfoios/screenplay's people submitted that got them admitted, it would be extremely helpful. I'm more so frightened by the aspect of what is the quality of writing I am now and how I am going to get to where I want to be (which is what school is for). And also the industry. A bit. (I'm also applying to USC/UNCSA/Chapman/LoyolaMMT/DePaul/etc.)

Thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I'm fact some schools seem to prefer this so they can show you how to do it correctly.

I think what really matters the most is that you can show that you have a knack for telling a good story no matter the format. I would say the personal statement and other writing prompts are the most important so for can show this.

Good luck!
