I've noticed although activity is high, that we don't have the same amount of applications in our database as last year yet.

Everyone please be sure to add your Applications to our application database so we can improve our acceptance data and help other applicants.

If you have any questions on how to add your application or suggestions on how to make the database better please let me know. If you have suggestions on how to make it easier to add your application or ideas as to which fields you don't think should be required please let me know.

The applications in our database allow really helpful data such as scholarship awarded, accepted GPA, film experience of accepted applicants and more... The more data we have the better for everyone.

Here are some examples of the data that this allows:

And here are some screenshots of the great data that applications in our database allow (for a different program than above):

If you have suggestions please let me know! Be sure to add your applications as soon as possible and before you receive decisions so the data isn't biased only to those who are accepted!

I'm always open to suggestions on to how to improve the site so please don't hesitate to ask or suggest something.

Also if you're accepted, or even if you were denied, please consider attaching or embedding your portfolio or essays to your application in the database on this site. Only site members (and not the public web and Google) can see them. :)

That would be very helpful to people who are thinking of applying next year. :)

Only ~30 more applications for 2022 and we'll beat the 2018 amount. We only have 335 currently and need almost twice that to beat the amount of data we had last year. I feel like there's a lot more useful information in this year's batch though due to the required fields.

We can do this. Keep adding your applications. :) 👍

Ok at 375 we've beaten our 2017 and 2018 numbers. Let's keep adding the applications no matter what your status. The more applications in our database the more accurate data for each program we can get such as:

  • Acceptance rate
  • Earliest interview notification dates
  • Earliest interview dates
  • Earliest decision dates
  • Earliest accepted off wait-list dates
  • Lowest accepted GPA and test scores
  • Acceptance rate with or without interview
  • Acceptance rate after interview
  • Percentage admitted off waitlist
  • Age of admitted applicants
  • Countries of admitted applicants
  • Film experience of admitted applicants
  • Undergrad degree of admitted applicants
  • Scholarship money awarded
If you have any questions on how to add your application or suggestions on how to improve the adding process or the database in general please let me know. 👍

Let's beat last year's total of 605. :)

Up to 387 applications this year. We're still behind from our high last year. Keep them coming.

I realize this may be because of the new required fields but the applications that people are submitting now have a ton more helpful information for people compared to previous years when fields weren't required.

Feedback on the process of adding your application to the site is greatly appreciated.

Remember if you've been accepted to a program or even if you haven't.. adding your application materials to the application on the site will be very helpful to people if you can. :)

Don't forget to log your applications with our database!

This helps keep all of our acceptance data accurate and extremely helpful to everyone. :)

Good luck!!

Please remember to log your applications!

We have only 183 applications in our database so far for 2023. We have a long way to go to match last year's total of 410.

The more applications the more helpful it is to everyone!

We're at 200 applications in the database this year which is behind where we were this point last year. Please log your applications so we can improve our acceptance data and help others.

Please log no matter the outcome so the percentages aren't skewed one way or the other.

Also we recently added a Scholarship Notification date field which should be helpful to people.

See example here:

We're also looking to add Latest date data to the application statistics pages.

We're 2 applications away from the amount of applications when we first started doing this in 2015. We can do better than that!

Please log your applications in the database when you can. The more applications we have the more useful this site will be to everyone. :)

Thank you!

Current and future applicants definitely thank you as well. :)

We've got only 275 applications in the database so far for this season. If you haven't logged your application yet please do so. Let's get it in the 300s. It's a great help to all applicants.

Keep those applications coming in. Also be sure to change the application status when you know which program you'll be attending.

We're now at 299 applications logged for the year. The more applications logged the more helpful it'll be for people.

Please remember to log yours when you can.

We're up to 316 for the application year! It's less than we usually have so please be sure to add yours when you can to help others. I know we have a lot more required fields than before but they're all for information people always ask us to collect to get the best admission stats for the programs.

If you have any suggestions please let us know. :)

Applications logged in our database are a HUGE help to the site and future applicants as they are a treasure trove of helpful information from people who have been through the process before so everyone knows what to possibly expect.

Please note that you don't need to necessarily include your application materials or anything like that... It's mainly purely data of when you applied, when you heard back, how the process went etc...

Other applicants on the site would greatly appreciate it!

Everyone remember to log your applications. It helps everyone so much!

The first post in this thread has an example of the statistics that it helps us collect for you.

Remember logging your application in the database is simply entering dates, some generic info about yourself, and a little info on how it went. Mostly everything else is optional. It does not mean uploading your application materials or what you wrote although you can do that.

Let's beat last year's record of the number of applications in the database!

Here's an example of the cool data for everyone that logging applications make possible:

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! We're at 252 applications logged for the year. Let's keep then coming in. The more applications logged the more useful the site will be to people.

Remember there's a new copy feature so logging multiple applications is much easier than before.

Everyone be sure to log your applications to help everyone out! We now have a new copy feature so if you've added one application it's very easy to add more.

It really helps everyone out. Thank you!

Don't forget to log your application so we can improve our information about the school programs acceptance data and help future applicants.

You can now start the logging process even if you don't have an account on the site yet.

Log your film school application with our Application Database so that we can improve our admissions statistics.
