Hey all! Quick question! I received an email last night saying that they've been trying to reach me about supplemental materials for my application. They said the email they have been trying to contact me from is fgrad@tft.ucla.edu. They also told me to check my spam folder. They asked that I check my email and respond to it with the material requested by the date requested.

I've been staying on top of my emails (checking them several times daily) and looking through my spam folder pretty regularly, but I haven't seen anything at all. The email itself was from Amanda Kibiloski (who I looked up and found on their website listed as the Director of Admissions and Outreach) and I called and left a message for her at the phone number listed on the email.

Has anyone else gotten a similar email? It wasn't a personalized email but looked more like a form letter sent out. I'm just kinda nervous since the email implies there is a deadline to submit materials. I just have no idea what those materials might be since I haven't actually received anything from the email address they listed.

Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I received the same email! I did discover the email in my spam folder. In my case, I didn't submit my film treatment double-spaced 💀 so they asked me to re-submit it double-spaced. The deadline was Jan. 15 for me.

Thanks for the response! I finally got the email re-sent to me! This time it arrived in my spam folder and I was able to retrieve it. Same deal for me. They just wanted me to reformat my film treatment.

Am I crazy or were the instructions for the treatment kind of a mess? I remember the website saying I needed it to be double-spaced but then the actual application form itself said that it needed to be single-spaced... anyway, I got it all figured out! Thanks again! Best of luck with your apps! :)

I agree, I found them to be very messy. The whole UCLA application was a little ambiguous for me in terms of instructions. But I appreciate that they gave us the chance to redo it 😅

Just merged our UCLA pages into one:

UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT)

UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT)

UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television teaches film from a theoretical and technical perspective. In 2021, TheWrap ranked UCLA TFT no. 8 in its annual list of the top 50 film schools. And in 2022, U.S. News & World Report named UCLA the no. 1 public university for the sixth consecutive year...

Ok thank you! This wait is awful! 😭
Yeah. Check out previous year's threads on UCLA in the meantime:

When I applied a few years back my interview notification was in my spam folder

Wait this is so comforting because I had been looking at the screenwriting UCLA forum, and they already had their interviews. YAY!!
Yes screenwriting interviews are coming out and so are cinematography candidates as well. I wonder if anyone applied to the producers program?

I haven't heard anything about interviews for the Directing or Producing programs so far. Hopefully soon! I did see a post earlier in this thread that said most people (those applying for the Production MFA, anyway) didn't get their interviews until mid-March last year. Maybe that will be the case this year! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!
