University of Arts London MA Film?

Hello!

Recently I was offered a place in this course in the "directing concentration". It seems like a pretty cool course overall, though I found it on the internet and really don't know much about it. The guy interviewing me was super nice and gave a lot of valuable information. I'm curious if anyone has been through the course, or know anyone who has been through the course? Did you feel you developed as a storyteller/filmmaker? Were you connected with any professional opportunities? Good community and/or networking? What are you doing now?

I'm coming from the US and I'm not sure what the degree would mean in this country. It would be cool to work in London for a bit afterwards, but I also want to make sure the MA Film at UAL will mean something in the US as well.

Hi! I submitted my application through a US representative back in December and then submitted my portfolio on Jan 11. I heard back on Feb 15. I know they are still reaching out to candidates though?

Thanks for the reply! You appear to have submitted your application quite early. So I'm hoping mine is still being assessed. Have you heard from any other schools? Goldsmiths emailed me and asked me to complete additional materials, including a film proposal and a questionnaire.

Congrats! I also just got in for directing as well. Was wondering the same—but spoke to my friend who said UAL is like the nyu / usc / ucla of the UK. I think as someone who’s worked in Hollywood for 3 years and going back, UAL seems like a perfect program in terms of length. Would love to hear from someone who has experienced it first hand.
