USC SCA Film & Television Production 2024

Hi everyone, I just finished my interview a few hours ago. The professor was very nice. Being an international student, I didn't speak completely smoothly for some questions, but it went well I guess. Has anyone else had an interview?
Hi, are you applying for masters or undergrad and which specialty?

Hey guys, I just finished my interview for the production MFA program. The whole thing was very conversational and it went on for about 30 minutes but it felt pretty quick. Now comes the longest and most painful wait
Congrats on the interview! Be sure to log your application in our database when you can to help others and so see can improve our data.

Logging applications on the site at it's very basic level adds the following useful and relatively anonymous information that is helpful to people:

  • Country of applicant
  • Film experience
  • Undergraduate degree
  • General description of what you submitted and how it went
  • Interview experience (optional)
  • GPA (optional)
  • Test scores (optional)
  • Etc...

That's awesome! Huge congrats and good luck! Out of curiosity, how did you find out about the interview? Did they email you or upload it to the YouSC portal?

They email you! I just got an email yesterday so it seems like theyre working their way through the alphabet maybe!
Oh cool, thanks for the info! That's really good to hear :)

I have not heard from USC about an interview, so am crossing my fingers they either haven't gotten to me or don't feel like they need the interview to make the decision.

Putting it out of my mind for the time being!

Thank you! I got the interview request through email on Jan 8
Congrats and good luck! Don't forget to log your application in the database:

If anyone has any advice for what questions to expect in an interview for MFA production, that would be fabulous

See this post: (there should be a bunch more posts about how the interviews were in that thread too)

All I've had so far is an email just before Christmas saying that they can't proceed with my application without receiving an official transcript (I had uploaded one during the application but they needed the official one). I emailed back to say that my undergraduate university in the UK doesn't email or mail out transcripts anymore (it's extremely frustrating!) and only operates an online portal where I have to add an email address for an invitation, and I asked if that would be ok and if so, which email should I add but I haven't heard back. I'm following up with them today so will hopefully update soon!
I think the same happened with me. I submitted them again and haven't heard from them since.
