USC SCA Film & Television Production 2024

Also got an email earlier today ~12pm saying I was waitlisted for the MFA program!

Just to clarify... If I'm on the waitlist, even if I'm not off for this fall semester, am I guaranteed attending for next spring semester?? Based on the threads of past applicants, I think so. But bit confused🤯

Yea I think that's the case it's also written in the email

I am in the same situation, I just curious about the differences between starting in the Spring semester as opposed to the traditional Fall intake. Do students starting in the Spring follow the same curriculum as those who begin in the Fall, or are there variations in course offerings and sequencing?

Were you waitlisted for graduate or undergrad? Sorry about the waitlist but way better than a rejection!

Kind of a silly question lol but for those of you attending Admitted Grad Students day later this month, what are you planning on wearing? Like do you think the dress code is business casual (nice trousers and a button down shirt/blouse), or do you think it would be acceptable to come casual in jeans?

Oooo...good question...I feel like I might wear black jeans and a nice shirt (if I end up being able to go!) Somewhere in the middle I guess between casual and biz casual

How to get Into USC SCA: Advice from an Admissions Committee Member

Considered by many to be the best film school in the world, it’s no wonder why the USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) is so sought after by prospective undergraduate and graduate students alike. However, the film school’s prestige can often make the application process particularly stressful and...

No variations, it’s the exact same curriculum. The only difference is graduation, there’s no winter graduation at USC so you can walk your penultimate semester or the spring after

Update on financial aid: my FAFSA was processed today, and I also got an invite from USC for a virtual financial aid session that will explain the fin aid process at USC.

Also, in that email they said: "Please note, if you applied for SCA Scholarships as part of the SlideRoom application, notifications will be sent out to recipients the week of March 29."

I wonder if waitlisted students for spring who have applied for scholarships will receive anything! If anyone finds out then please let us know. If USC can offer me any financial aid I'll be attending the spring over UCLA.

Hello! I was admitted and would love to join the GroupMe or whatever else might have been started.
As an alternative you can also create a massive private conversation here on FilmSchool.org. :)

Regular members can add up to 10 participants and Supporting Members can invite a ton more. You can always add other members to the conversation later.

Hi everyone! I have heard very different opinions on the MFA Film/Television program, are those of you who are admitted decide to go? SCA has a good reputation but I am a bit worried about the curriculum (disorganized, prof doesn't care enough etc.) Any intakes will be appreciated!
