UT Austin Screenwriting 2024

You weren't kidding about the icing LMAO I love Nothing Bundt Cakes!
Me too! It's a good thing there's not one right in town, or else I could definitely make that place a habit. LOL
Yesss! We're building our success stories! I personally popped a bottle of champagne with my roommate after hitting submit on this application. This was a big deal to me!

LMAO YES! I've been doing a lot of external cackling too. You've got another villain on your side.

ADHD mentioned 👁️
Awww! Love that you celebrated your submission with champagne. It is a big deal! I felt the same way - so freaking victorious after hitting "submit." I lived and breathed and ate that application and I cried literal tears of joy when it was finally done.

OMG! So glad to have another villain! YES! Yes to external cackling!!!!

And ADHD! - Annoying x 10 / Ruiner of my life / Would never trade it away (probably)
Sounds like you know the struggle. The writing strategies you've shared to cope with it are absolutely brilliant.

I think I had undiagnosed squirrel syndrome. Maybe that's not what ADHD is but it feels like sometimes lol.

Other times I get completely tunnel vision and in the zone and life around me disappears when I'm deep in an edit. That's caused problems with my wife before (lol) so I've had to set reminders to bring me back to real life.

Hehe! I love Doug! :)
That for sure mirrors my own experience! That, along with the constant losing and forgetting things, and especially how hard it is to start and finish tasks. Ugh. :(
Definitely recommend getting diagnosed even if you never want to pursue treatment. Something about being able to put a name to it helped me. Basically made my whole life make sense. Although, there's a lot to be said for "undiagnosed squirrel syndrome" LOL! That's a way more fun way to label it. :)

We've recently added a feature similar to GroupMe where members (any members - not just Supporting Members) can create Group Threads that only members the thread starter invites can see. :)

More features are coming soon.

was offered a spot off the waitlist (on Tues)! I'm going to UT 💃😮‍💨 A final decision should be made by August 18th! Check your inboxes around August 16th, 17th.

Wow wow wow. Congratulations! Tremendous to see dreams come true!

Hi all! I'm definitely late to the party but I was just admitted off the waitlist a couple of days ago and plan to attend!

I'm really pulling for everyone else on the waitlist, they told us to let them know by 4/15 so it sounds like they still expect to accept more.

Looking forward to meeting you guys in August!

Any other waitlisters still not heard anything yet? I feel like by posting this I'm going to manifest the rejection but I'm just surprised to have not seen or heard anything so far!

Have not heard anything, from Texas or others. I was thinking that with two waitlists cleared and Texas being such a small program that it was probably full. Remind me is it 7 or 8? Total?

I think 7! I was figuring similarly, but not sure why they haven't told us yet!
