Of course! Last year the thread for UT was really active so I wanted to make sure there was another one this year. Congrats on applying for the first time! How has your application experience been so far?

Overall I can't complain! It was my first time applying anywhere, so there's definitely a big learning curve. I have super low expectations for this year but regardless I've learned a lot from this process! How about you, how has your application experience been so far? Is UT Austin your top choice?

Honestly I have def been more distracted and busy (in a good way!) this application season with other fun and new things in life (moving, jobs, etc) so I feel like I've been a lot more rushed lol. Hopefully my work isn't worse for it since at least I've been through MFA apps before and know the drill slightly, but idk we'll see lol. I feel like I don't really have a top choice honestly. I'd love to go anywhere! I'd say UT, NW, and UC Riverside all feel like top programs for me, but I'd be excited to get in anywhere I apply. How about you?

Last year they sent us interview emails in early Feb and we interviewed around Valentine's Day and then knew our status by the end of February. However, I think that was probably a pretty early response cycle so I am trying to tell myself not to expect anything until at least mid-to-late Feb.

I just heard back from DePaul for an interview (yay!) but they are notoriously early responders and this year was actually the latest they've sent them out in a while from what I can gather, so I feel like I'm trying to tell myself to wait longer than I might expect to in general this year. Honestly when I hadn't heard from them that late into Jan I thought I was cooked lol so the interview request was a very pleasant surprise.

I haven’t heard anything yet! Starting to get antsy. I’m hoping this week is the week that they send interview requests out, double hoping that we are all on that list

I don’t know for sure but I’m going to go out on a defeatist limb and guess that all were sent at once if anyone hears differently lmk!
