Has anyone been waitlisted? Reply here if you have.

Our application statistics and database has "accepted off waitlist" dates and data as well.

As always don't forget to log your applications in our database so we can improve our acceptance data for the programs.

Waitlisted! I actually applied for spring 2023 and then they moved me to fall 2023 then now they waitlisted me again lolololol

I posted this on a comment to @jfjburns95 application but I'll post it here too.

Keep writing and creating and working and learning and you will succeed. Remember film school isn't the end goal but a possible path towards the goal. Film School is part of your plan to get a job and work in the industry and not the end goal itself. It's not the only path there and a certain school or program is not the only path there. If film school itself is the goal then what? Don't be like the dog who caught the car. :) Keep working hard, writing, creating, collaborating, and learning and you will get there. There are a ton of jobs in this industry and we need talented people.

Check out our interview with @Patrick Clement here who has similar advice on the matter:

Thanks Chris! You’re the man.

Does anyone have experience being waitlisted by the same school for two years in a row? What's the likelihood of it happening? Does it happen often?

Thanks!

What school?
Columbia. I haven’t received a decision yet for this year (hopefully next week), but I was waitlisted last year.

So, I was just curious to know if getting waitlisted in back-to-back years is a possibility — or perhaps even a common occurence…? Or do they generally prefer to reject 2nd time applicants instead of placing them on the waitlist again?

Waitlisted by NYU. I literally thought I had 0 chances of even getting an interview request. But then after I received it I started getting my hopes up until I bombed the interview lol.
