Co-sign on Lupin! I'll add a couple more.
  • Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel
    • Solving the mysterious disappearance and death of Elisa Lam. I knew about her story before, so this was really cathartic to get all the pieces. I don't engage with a ton of true crime so I don't have much to compare it to, but the journalism here seemed ethical and sensitive to me.
  • Sweet Home
    • Apocalyptic horror/thriller series based on an online comic. Via Netflix, "As humans turn into savage monsters and wreak terror, one troubled teen and his apartment neighbors fight to survive — and to hold on to their humanity." The SFX are surprisingly fantastic and I was super engaged with the characters. Apparently renewed for at least one more season?

Watching Clickbait now. Interesting so far. I like how it is from one person's perspective each episode. Only made it through first 2 episodes so far.

Ok. Just finished. Really good series. Totally didn't guess how it ended. Wasn't a huge fan of the let's tie everything in a bow final final scene but all it all definitely worth the watch of the 8 episodes.

Anything anyone recommends on Netflix?
Once Upon a Time in America was recently added so thats a given. Also, you can never go wrong with Magnolia or Beasts of No Nation of course.

I also really like Killing Them Softly, but some people might not like Andrew Dominik's style for the movie.

Ok watching Squid Game... tried watching at first and it was dubbed in English and it was horrible. Stopped after 15 minutes because it was god awful and I hated the main character.

Then a couple of days later tried watching in Korean with subtitles and made it through the first episode and got hooked. I think 4 is my next one.

You need to watch in Korean and make it through at least a half hour of the first episode before it gets good. It was hard to watch in it's horribleness before then. I HATED the main character. Why was I watching? But then the game started. Then it was good.

I watched the first episode so far, I always watch in original dub + subs for any foreign language works.
Personally... first half of episode 1 was obnoxiously too long and really need a serious cut down. We get the point after 10 minutes of showing what a scumbag the main guy is.

I also did read that even the subtitles are not exactly clean. There was a discussion on an article somewhere that the person who did the translation, kind of did a relatively lazy job and converting the actual words differently and didn't catch the context of the speech.
