Who have you discovered through your MFA screenwriting instructors?

Both of my screenwriting instructors at Stony Brook love Andrea Arnold, Lynn Ramsey and Charlotte Wells so I've been exposed to a lot of award-winning UK filmmaking that doesn't have nearly as much plot as I'm used to. I didn't think to consider the tastes of my professors prior to choosing a program - I was too eager to get in.

I'm wondering who else has been surprised by their professor's tastes?
