Critique My Application Material (And Share Yours Too, If Willing)

Hi @T117, here are some of my thoughts: Character Sketch: I thought this was really excellent for several reasons. First, you show off your talent at painting a scene. You do a great job of bringing out all of the details, and each of them was significant to the story. Second, I loved how you...

Critique My Application Material (And Share Yours Too, If Willing)

Hey T117, thanks a ton for reading through my stuff. I started taking a look at yours, and I'll post some reactions later on. I definitely think I could've dug a litter deeper for specifics on how I came to be a writer. I think I got a bit swept up in the format, and should've taken a harder...

Critique My Application Material (And Share Yours Too, If Willing)

Thanks so much for your thoughts, Nicholas! I think you're spot on that I could have done more to explore the humanity of my characters in both creative challenges. I think I was too afraid to change the action as I originally imagined it, but it would have been served by more thought on who...

Personally, I liked the unanswered questions, as they made me want to know more about these characters and their story.

I posted my stuff above (this link), but then realized people might not want to dig through 25 pages of text. So here are the individual PDFs to make life easier.

I thought this was great. Very evocative poignant [Manwitch stole my word while I was typing], and you produce a lot of character development from very simple actions and images. I also liked the balance between the two characters. My first thought was "Ah, the daughter needs to grow up fast to...

Hi Nick, thanks for sharing your stuff. Here are my reactions: PERSONAL STATEMENT - As someone who doesn't know much about horror, it was interesting to hear your perspective as someone who has studied the genre. I would have liked to hear some more detailed examples from the films you...

Critique My Application Material (And Share Yours Too, If Willing)

Speaking for myself, it's a lot of work to not get any feedback (or to only get "no thanks" as feedback). Also, theoretically I want to write stuff in order for other people to read it, so why not start here.

Thanks for starting this thread! I'd like to share my material too, once I put it all together. Reactions to your pieces: ME 2- I think the concept is great. You captured the sense of self-confrontation well; I could feel that this was a conversation that had been waiting to happen for your...

I believe what happened is that someone grabbed the corner of a selection box and dragged it, which autofilled the boxes, so "Johnella18" was followed by "Johnella19" and so on. Looking at the changelog, it happened around Feb 21.
