NFTS Screenwriting - 2025 entry

Hi everyone!

Is anyone else planning on applying for the Screenwriting MA course at the NFTS?

I've got three rejections under my belt so this might be my last rodeo with them but I think I'll give it one last shot.

Good luck! Here's our current admission statistics for the program.

There is no other film school in the United Kingdom more notable than the National Film and Television School (NFTS), an institution renowned for producing high-profile industry players and Oscar winners since 1971. Based in Beaconsfield, a short 25 minute train journey from central London...

Hello!! I was wondering how much people are writing for the 250/150 word questions. Are you filling up the word count to the best of your ability? With some of them I'm quite a bit under the maximum word count and feel as though I should be filling it up, but I also really don't want to waffle/say anything unnecessary.

I try not to worry too much about meeting the word count, I think it's pointless to add unnecessary information just to try and hit it. Some of my answers have hit the maximum but others are 50 or so words under.

Hey guys! Wishing you all good luck! @tibicen what was your interview like in 2020, did they give you feedback?
Hi! The interview was primarily focused on the screenplay I had submitted: they had clearly read it in-depth and had a lot of interesting and challenging questions for me asking why I'd made some choices and not others, what my intent was behind X and Y, etc. There was additionally a pre-interview test where I had to write a new one-page treatment in 30 minutes based on a choice of some images they sent me for inspiration, and then I pitched that in the interview. I was sent some nice feedback with the rejection, but nothing specific or focused, just a polite encouragement to keep writing.

Application in! Just got an offer for LFS and trying to decide what to do now...wish the application deadlines for both schools weren't so far apart
