    It's very intense, and that's not for everyone! It's also very focused on your discipline, so if you're interesting in trying other disciplines, there's not many opportunities for that.

    They went through both of my film submissions and asked me about certain choices I made -- they critiqued a certain directorial choice I made, saying they wouldn't have made that choice. My theory is they wanted to see how I responded to that --- since so many of our choices are critiqued at AFI...

    Any other schools train auteur film directors like NYU TISCH?

    If you're a director at AFI you can write your script for 1 out of 3 of the cycle films in the first year, and you can also write your thesis film in the 2nd year. Not sure about editing.

    We all had to pay our tuition for the fall semester already, the deadline was earlier this month. So unfortunately I do not think there will be anymore waitlist movement, unless something unexpected happens.
