YES! Holy crap was that trailer awesome! In the very first ten seconds of it, I was afraid it would be just be a tacky/stupid reason to have a movie filled with special effects, but then it started to look so much more interesting than what I thought it was going to be.
Anyway...I completely...
OH! and i just got back (3AM) from seeing Iron Man 2 with my buddies.
did you guys see it yet? I was kind of let down, which I actually kind of expected to be. Whenever they do a sequel so soon, I feel like they stick to the same exact formula at the first movie rather than try to just...
Hey fellas.
Yeah...I was at the UCSD thing. Man...that campus reminded me of a resort! did anyone get a tour of the transfer housing at The Village? Holy crap- I could see people trying to transfer into UCSD purely because of how amazing the housing was with full ocean views! I still am in...
that's awesome dude! Most people, including me, find it hard to bond with anyone at community college because most kids are all working and commuting and just go to campus when they have a class and can't wait to leave campus ASAP. lol
i wish i had a class that bonded like yours.
yeah...do u know anything on Berkeley's major Capn Amurikuh? I'm dying to find out about it, and I just contacted the department to have a few current students e-mail me to discuss their views on it.
Your point about the CSU's having Film is truly hilarious...I was just thinking about how much...
Nah...I didn't apply to any CSU's, though I am kind of wishing I did as a lot more CSU's offer majors in Journalism, Creative Writing, and Film, whereas few UC's do. lol
the good thing about the UC's however, is that nearly all of them qualify for "Happiest Students" type lists in all of those...
I hear you. If that happens though...it happens. You can't prejudge or predict the future. And that part about not letting money dictate your future is important too! I went to a private school my first year and took out tons of loans to pay for it because I thought it would be worth it. It...
Here's what someone who is a current major there had to say to me:
"While the visual arts program here is a bit more production oriented than most, it is also much more experimental than narrative storytelling. I'm not sure what equipment you're accustomed to, but I was a bit disappointed by...
By the classes not being good, I've heard that classes in ALL majors are very general and not informative, and that it is mainly up to the student to teach himself/herself and decide to do individual projects, etc. I found out a little while back what equipment they have. I'll try and find out...
Wow....you are really good at snooping around on the web! How do you find all these things. I really want to find similar things on Berkeley's program too. T
Anyway- The criticism's go along with basically everything my friends have told me about UCSD in general. The classes aren't really...
I feel like I met someone named Erik Forssell while I was there...but I honestly can't match the name to any specific memory/face. Were they working it as well?
This perfectly sums up everything my bro told me about UCSD and what my friends told me. They all were incredibly social while they were there. Its just not huge epic parties. Instead, its more intimate and people are always going out the pubs together and hanging out.
Oh..I was actually...
haha- no...i just was too embarrassed to write that I got rejected after I found out a week ago.
on an unrelated note, I did get accepted into UCI, UCSD, and Cal....and UCLA (but for my alternate major).
I have no idea which one to go to, and I'm having trouble seeing all the requirements that...
alright. i gotta weigh in here cuz UCSD might potentially be where everyone ends up. haha
This is what I've heard about life there, from both my brother and several friends that have gone (or still go) there:
The quality of life is very good. The housing is supposedly incredible (some with...
So I saw the UCLA Graduate Student Films yesterday at the Newport Beach Film Festival. They were really surprisingly good. I was amazed at the level of quality, though that comes along with major $$$$ as they learn how to raise money to produce their films. Good narratives though, and the...
You basically named the best schools for typical 4-year programs, so there is really not much else to recommend.
There is another opportunity at the LA Film School, but they are not a full-fledged university. They do allow you to use your credits there in conjunction with some partner...
good to know you are not a narc. lol
i wouldn't give up hope yet. Maaybe in a week or so I would, b/c they said we won't hear decisions until May 1st so that leaves room for them to invite others.
hah...thanks for backing me up. I didn't want to feel like I was over-paranoid. but my dad keeps telling me stories about how college counselors are hacking in Facebook, etc.
O dude! I forgot to mention in my post on UCSD that I've heard that the program is mainly editing on PC's. I...
Dude...just hold out another week. your eagerness to find out so much information about me makes me feel like you work for the school and are trying to figure out who posts here.
i wish you the best of luck...just chill a bit.
Yeah. I originally applied and was admitted to their Literature and Writing Major, because I thought I might be able to do creative writing, and then I thought I could possibly minor in Film Studies (as they do offer it as a minor.)
But the more I think about it, I think I'd rather complete...
