    AFI 2010

I just declined my spot for MFA in Screenwriting. So hopefully, that opens one up for someone waiting. Good luck, y'all!

    Columbia Fall 2010

I just got my waitlist letter. I'm sending it back telling them to remove me from the waitlist as I've decided to go to UCLA. So good luck to you and others who are on the waitlist!

    UCLA vs. USC

Jeff- Regarding your potential to collaborate with other people in the MFA program (writers, producers, etc.) I think UCLA is good at that as well. I know a current MFA in Screenwriting student at UCLA who has helped produce and collaborated with another MFA in Directing student at UCLA, so it...

    Miami Fall 2010

Just got into MIAMI for Screenwriting, but will most likely be going to UCLA, so will have to decline the acceptance. One more spot for someone out there who wants it!

    Miami Fall 2010

I would say Loyola, but that's just about how the program is structured and based on the faculty I've met from Loyola. If I got into those two, it'd be easy which one I'd want to end up at (LMU), but it all depends on what you want to do afterwards.

    NYU Dramatic Writing 2010

Haha, it's tempting to think that way, Yonkondy. I guess every school has a certain criteria they're looking for. I'm not sure that means they're the artsy/pretentious type, but maybe it does mean they're looking for a particular type of individual. Maybe they do that b/c they know how their...

    Northwestern 2010

Generallyspeaking! Hey...heard about the mentor thing from a current student who's entering into her third year of UCLA MFA in Screenwriting. I'm not very familiar with what it all entails but I'll be meeting with her soon to talk more about it. To my little knowledge, you're assigned someone...

    Northwestern 2010

That's a good perspective, etone112! I would agree with everything except maybe the point that it's considered to be the #1 Screenwriting program in the country. I think that is up for serious debate. If you look at UCLA and the alumni they've churned out in the Screenwriting world (e.g...

    Columbia Fall 2010

Same here, nyny and New2you. I am a screenwriting applicant, got an interview, but no word/call yet. I'm thinking this might not be good b/c (don't panic), but I wasn't feeling positive about the interview afterwards. It was a B-/C+ interview. The other two schools I interviewed for, I came...

    Reject cafe

I got rejected from everywhere last year when I applied. So I know the hopelessness your feeling. But two months later (after I got rejected from everywhere), I was offered a full time job with benefits, and realized that it was a perfect job to do while I was writing on the side, too. So you...

    Northwestern 2010

IP, I'm in the same boat as you. My status online has not changed, no view decision link, nothing. So I'm guessing we're waitlisted and they're waiting to see if others confirmed their acceptance or not. My guess is we'll hear back in a few weeks.

Congrats, IP!!! Way to go. I've yet to get the call, so I'm guessing it might not be coming. But we'll see.

    NYU Dramatic Writing 2010

Yeah, I agree minomino. I don't think it gives the Admissions office a great picture of who you are, but I guess such is life. And I'm okay with how it all turned out. Sorry Levimfs and others. It does suck, still. But I felt like on the whole, I spent the least amount of time on my app...

    UCLA 2010

I'm so sorry for those who got rejected last night. I know how you feel though. I got rejected last year to UCLA and got the email on a Friday at around midnight. It was pretty devastating. Came like a thief in the night. My heart's feeling for all of you. Did you all get interviews...
