Nothing new. Started early enough because apart from Northwestern, this requires more statements than other schools. Surprised to get an email notifying me that I’m on the waitlist. Hoping for the best at this point.
Interestingly challenging process because you surely have to write new materials for the sake of the application. Had a virtual interview being an international applicant. Others had to do in-person.
Applied through GradCas. A 10-page writing sample is required, which could be a screenplay, stage play or prose. I submitted a screenplay.
They offer a graduate assistantship that covers tuition and living expense, which I missed because I submitted my application way passed the priority deadline.
Apart from Northwestern, it's the only school that requires so many essays. Though a bit stressful writing multiple essays for each school, it's quite an insightful experience. The prompts make it easier to tell your story, answering their questions in the process.
