That's so interesting to see those questions! I had mine today and I was asked the first one and the second one (but it had to be about my childhood) but none of the rest. Most of the questions really pertained to what I thought of New York the city itself. I'm not sure if that's because I'm an...
No updates over here! All I've seen is that my YouTube video has been watched approx. 4 times from Slideshow but I know the analytics aren't always accurate. Very nervous about the wait but good luck to everyone!
Hiya! Has your recommender said they've had issues? I think with mine I had typed their email in without the capital letters as I didn't think it mattered but I think it did in the end. I re-added them and added capitals on and it's just come through to them today and they've uploaded my...
Quick question I have for everyone about the letters of recommendation: have any one you not had both of yours uploaded yet and/or had any issues with this? I sent both of my letter requests out at the same time, one to my old university lecturer and one to someone I worked with. The person I...
Hey everyone, lovely to meet you all! A quick question: have any of you not had both of your letters of recommendation uploaded/had any issues with it? One of my references has been able to upload the letter to the portal but the other one keeps saying they haven't received any email. I've...
I don't think it's massively different, just some changes in scene headings and writing style (US is more conversational than UK for most general script things. Higher profile writers in the UK have more leeway though from what I've found). How did you find the application? What did you submit...
It was quite difficult because it was super weird writing in a new format but a lot of research online suggested they preferred US format. I think I'm not 100% to be honest: Dramatic Writing was the first one I wanted to apply for as I've always wanted to write but I'm also drawn to the extra...
Hiya!
Thanks for making this thread, I'd love to connect with other applicants like in previous years.
A little about me:
This is my first time applying and I also applied for the MFA Dramatic Writing.
I'm an international applicant based in Wales, UK
I've got a decent amount of film...
Heya!
Thank you for starting the thread, I think it's great to have a place to chat :) I sent my applications in for the MFA Dramatic Writing and MFA Film (with focus in screenwriting and directing) before the deadline and it's my first time applying. I'm an international applicant based in...
I've really enjoyed myself! It inspired me to write and gave me the motivation to finish my screenplay! I submitted a half an hour pilot in US format. I did find it really hard writing the statement of purpose with such a small amount of words but I was really happy with it in the end after...
Writing the portfolio was fun! It was great to be able to sit down with a prompt and be as creative as possible and I really loved the pitch concept. For my application, I also concentrated on writing and directing.
