Waitlisted (After Interview) LMU, Writing for the Screen MFA

Loyola Marymount's application process was pretty straightforward. It was just as time consuming as the rest of them. The deadline fell around the same time as a few others, but I was able to knock out the earlier ones first, but still get this one done ahead of the holidays.

Admitted but Not Attending (After Interview) DePaul - MFA in Screenwriting

Their application process was pretty straightforward. I attended an informational Zoom and they waived my application fee, which was appreciated! Overall, I would say this is one of the easier applications to get through. I enjoyed my interview and the people who run the program.

Admitted but Not Attending (After Interview) CUNY Brooklyn College Feirstein - MFA Screenwriting

I didn't feel as much pressure with this application. It was very standard. I will say all of the information seemed to be in different places in regards to making sure I was submitting everything I was supposed to.

Denied (w/o Interview) UT Austin Michener Center for Writers

Obviously this is a very special program and an intimidating one at that! Being fully funded plus a stipend. The application process has been very straightforward. UT Austin's MFA program encourages all applicants to apply to both their program and this one. You fill out one application and it...

Denied (w/o Interview) Northwestern Writing for Screen & Stage MFA, Fall 2023

Northwestern has a pretty easy application process. The instructions didn't mention a couple of extra (optional) writing prompts (diversity statement and I think there was another). I wish they would accept a full writing sample, but understand they have a later deadline than the others and...

Denied (w/o Interview) University of Texas Austin Screenwriting MFA, Fall 2023

It's a very standard large university application. I also applied to the Michener Center. They make it easy to upload one file, like your resume and it's added to both applications, however it got very confusing when I uploaded my statement of purpose for this app, and the Michener app also...

Attending (Admitted After Interview) UCLA Screenwriting MFA - Fall 2023

The application process is pretty straightforward and feels like a standard large university application. It took some thought to figure out how to differentiate between the personal statement and the statement of purpose; what each should contain and how to tell enough about me and my goals...

Waitlisted (w/o Interview) USC Writing for Screen & Television MFA, Fall 2023

Their application forces you to get creative, which I appreciate! It's definitely a lot of work, but if I get in, it will have been worth it! It looks like in the past, they admit without interviewing, so now it's just a waiting game.
