This was my most grueling application as I had to submit a full length feature screenplay along with a short film and other writing samples. As well as a treatment for the thesis film.
Waiting to hear back. Smooth process, strong interview, still stressed as hell. Got the impression that admissions should be returned sooner than later in order to acommodate upcoming NYU strike.
Chapman's application was a lot of fun. I thought the personal essay, where you can't show your face felt really unique from other application materials. Was super excited to get an interview and thought the interviewer was really kind and approachable. I left the interview more excited about...
Made some changes to my personal statement from last semester applying to USC, and thrilled to have gotten an interview. The interview felt like it went well, but was short, around 15-20 minutes. The interviewer was very kind and quickly dispelled any anxiety I brought with me into the interview.
The application was really straightforward, and the interview went great. The interviewer was very personable and felt like they were genuinely interested in having me be a part of the program, which was a much-needed confidence boost at this point of applying to programs, lol. Going to visit...
The application process was fine, was able to repurpose a few essays from my USC application. The emphasis on written work/ lack of a video requirement was surprising. They got back to me faster than expected from the previous notification dates listed here.
BU has the most singular application process, especially because of the Kira Assesment. I felt it was good to pratice to understand how it worked as I hadn't done anything similar before. On the bright side, I guess it's hard for everybody.
I agree with what was said by most people, I think the process of Chapman allows you to show your work as a writer without it being too much. They asked for a statement of intent essay, a transformational moment essay, a creative portfolio, a narrative scene and letters of recommendation.
To say I'm shocked to be waitlisted would be an understatement. After those first waves of acceptances and waitlists came out, I was convinced I was getting rejected. Then I finally got an email, saw the word waitlist, and freaked out! So, to anyone stressing that they haven't heard back at the...
I had begun the application process nearly a year ago, planning and familiarizing myself with past years' material. It was smooth for me as I began early, but it was time-consuming. I enjoyed the autobiographical essay most given the choices I had debated between which life experiences I would...
The application process for USC went well. I believe they have a good variety of materials where you can show your potential as a screenwriter, but I do recommend starting as soon as possible and dedicating a reasonable amount of time into polishing each material.
I really liked the AFI application process. The interface was good, the materials requested were reasonable and I believe they can make a good assessment of each candidate based on what was asked.
The application process has gone well. I believe the hardest part was the two original screenplays required in the materials, as it was the longest work in all applications. Overall, it went well.
The application process takes quite a while, and there's a lot of material to prepare, but it was much easier for me this time since I am reapplying and already familiar with the process.
There were a lot of materials for this one, the statement of intent (basically a series of short answers) was pretty demanding creatively (at least for me). Quite a few questions asking you to pick and analyze films, images, books, and songs that relate back to you and how they represent your...
