Hullo! There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the LMU application requirements... including the deadlines.
Is the deadline for the MFA programs (I'm applying to Creating, Writing and Producing for TV) on January 15th or February 15th?
Thanks!
Hey Everyone,
I applied several schools and eventually gotta to choose between Emerson MFA Media Arts and Loyola Marymount University Film/TV production. I've been looking up these two programs on this and other websites. Although I find a lot of useful information, I haven't been able to make...

Anyone out there currently in LMU's undergrad Film Dept? I'm presently a freshman in UNO's Film Dept (got full scholarship, one big reason why I'm there). I did visit LMU film dept this past summer, it's fantastic. How hard is it to transfer there? My GPA is approx 3.5. Any info is appreciated.
How do you apply to LMU?? I can't find the application to the film program anywhere! And what are their requirements? please someone help me out before its too late!
I graduated from high school in May, and unfortunately, cannot go to college until either the Spring of Next fall. At least I can use the time to save up come money.
Anyway, I'm not sure which schools to apply to (I tried Art Center, and I was rejected), so I decided maybe LMU and SDSU. With my...
Howdy-do, my first post here. Happened upon this site a few weeks ago, when doing a general search for "LMU screenwriting." Seems like the best resource for grad-level film school info -- which makes sense, given the nature of this site.
So anyway, I applied to several film schools this past...
Hey all, I was happy to find your message board as I am planning to apply to grad school in screenwriting for fall of 2010, and there appear to be fairly limited resources in terms of actually learning about my options.
I've read Film School Confidential cover to cover several times, but I've...
Has anyone heard back from Loyola Marymount regarding their MFA in Screenwriting application (For Fall 2009)? I talked to the chair back in February and he said they usually decide early April to mid-April.
Just curious.
I have finalized my list of accepted colleges, which are LMU (Loyola Marymount Uni.) and SVA (School of visual arts) for 2009 fall film/video program.
As much research I have already done, I just want to hear if anyone willing to help me add some more knowledge to these 2 colleges?
I won't...
Hey all,
So I apologize in advance for rambling. Here's the deal. I was a biz student in undergrad, graduated 1st in my class with a 3.98 GPA, then got an MBA and have spent the last 2 years working for the world's biggest tobacco company. Career is great, just got promoted, new company car...
Was wondering if anyone here would be willing to talk about Loyola Marymount's MFA screenwriting program. I've been really impressed with what I've read about it, but it's always helpful to talk to a human being, too. :)
I have recently been accepted to Loyola Marymount, under their screenwriting undergrad major, and Emerson, under their Film Production with a focus on writing for film and television undergrad major. I was wonder which of these school has a better reputation, academics , and staff?
Does anyone know Loyola Marymount University's address for Undergraduate Admissions? I sent in my transcript and for some reason, they haven't received it. It would really help if someone answered me asap because I want to send it out by next week.
EDIT: Nevermind, LMU emailed me back.
I have been accepted to both and am trying to decide between the two. I'd love to hear some opinions regarding each of the schools. Specifically, I am going for film production hoping to become a director. If anyone could offer insight into how the programs compare please let me know.
Thanks
I have been accepted as a screenwriting major at both LMU and Chapman. Does LMU have a good reputation? Is one better than the other?
Thank you for any information you can provide.
