Hey there! Yay more UCLA peeps!
@Kristi H. started a fb group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1010737419012402/

Hey everyone, I just got notified that I'm on the waitlist. That means things are starting to go out!
I'll likely be removing myself from the waitlist and attending UCLA, so that means anyone else on the waitlist, one less person to compete with! Good luck to everyone! :)
If you have contact info, it can't hurt as long as it's short and sweet - definitely don't use it as an extra space to expand on why you're so great. Just mention how much you enjoyed chatting, how the program seems like a great fit, and thank them for their time.
That said, for my 3 interviews...
I think before April 1st similar to last year, but some people were still interviewing last week. So I assume they'll use this week to go over applications and make decisions, and then we'll hear the week after.
I have the same thing - probably a bug in the website, reloading the same content twice. I wouldn't read too much into it and wait until we hear directly from the school! :)
Hey @jedi578k - I didn't apply to AFI, but a few people have mentioned that decisions are being released on April 4th. It seems like a lot of schools were on a later timeline this year than last, probably due to the number of applicants. Keep your chin up!

I think in my initial reply I thought @jj45 said it was their first choice - but after a second reading realized they're still waiting to hear back from places! That definitely changes things.
I think it's a bargaining chip on behalf of the school, and a way for them to get committed students...
Hey jj - it it's your first choice, don't be put off by the deposit. At most schools, the deposit is non-refundable but it goes toward your tuition for the first semester. So if you want to go there, you're just getting a head start on the tuition. I did some quick googling and found a site that...
Looking at it as a prospective student, being able to glance and see "accepted" was really helpful. It's nice to see where people committed but "passed on" feels a little granular to me. Plus, it still doesn't guarantee you a spot on a waitlist :) People could put it in the notes section...
Hi Nikhail - I'm applying to their Media Art program, which is their equivalent of a film production program. Looks like most others on the spreadsheet are applying to that program too. I haven't heard back from them, but hopefully lurkers can post if they've been accepted to the screenwriting...
