Thank you! Sorry for the bombardment of applications I just added. Just wanted to make sure I logged them in case anyone else in the future applied. :)
Application was pretty easy. My only gripe is they still haven't updated my fafsa check mark haha. But they are very responsive and don't seem to require more than other programs. I applied here because it's one of the top ranked schools and had a low residency program.
It was straight forward but Chapman required more materials than my other applications. They have been tremendously nice but a little slow to update their applicants on if/when they should expect a decision.
The application was very straightforward and easy. I applied to Spalding because I was looking into low res programs and was impressed by their faculty. They had a get to know me interview which was very nice. And then I received my acceptance soon after.
The application was straightforward. I applied online and was invited to an information session along with some other perspective students. I attended to learn more about the program and then received my acceptance shortly after.
It was pretty straight forward. They required recommendations a personal statement, and an excerpt from a script. The interviewer was nice and they got back to me fairly quickly.
I haven't yet. I believe I've seen people be interviewed in February for Chapman, but take what i say with a grain of salt. I'm patiently waiting as well. :)
Thank you for doing this @alanray. I'm waiting to hear back from a few schools but i had a few questions to ask someone who went through the program. (still not accepted)
Do they interview in the application process?
Do you know if the offer teacher assistantships while attending grad school...
Currently not much to update. They seemed to require less than some other programs I applied to so I was able to fly through it. I tried something a little different for their 5 page requirement, I guess we will see if it works or not.
I'm far from the only person to listen to. I'd make sure you get a lot of opinions before you send out applications, but from what I know you don't need any kind of film college for film graduate school. Although it might help a little.
I know a couple people who have gotten degrees in...
Hey folks.
I'll try to keep this brief. I am planning to go to grad school to get credentials to teach. I applied to a handful of schools got a no from some turned down some others, and basically what it has come down to is a decision between Miami and CSUF.
Miami's MFA is film production...
Dang, I wish I looked into this school before I drained my teachers of Letters of rec. hahahah.
Is the MFA for TV writing cheaper than the $50,000 out of state tuition since it is two years? Or is it the same price?
(Saw Stony Brook has the producer of First Reformed as the director of the...
Oh man congrats. I'm Jealous. I haven't heard anything yet. But I see someone else on here posted they were accepted off the waitlist. I'm scared that means they sent out their final acceptance, and the rest are not getting in this year.
Did you do anything else after you found out you were...
I imagine so. I toured their school where they showed a live action short that was pretty good. I think it all depends on what kind of films you want to make, and what you are looking to get out of school.
They appeared to me like the school in Never Look Away where they are just all about art...
