From what I know, everyone I've asked in my cohort had an interview. However, some people didn't hear back until like mid-April so there's still time. I also didn't receive a formal interview email, and just received an email like two weeks later asking why I hadn't booked a slot, so don't give...
Hi all! As a current 1st year MFA Screenwriting student at UCLA, I just wanted to post in here to say good luck to you all, and if you have any questions about the program/UCLA in general, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Hey everyone!
I'm a first year international grad student studying for my Screenwriting MFA at UCLA, and I'm just about to wrap up my first quarter at TFT. I know all too well how stressful it can be applying for grad film and/or writing programs, and it was quite hard for me to find...
Hi all,
Would love to get the thoughts of users on here and current/former students of both schools!
I'm an international student going to the US on a J-1 visa with a large sponsored scholarship for one year only and have been admitted to two schools but I'm having a hard time in seeing what...
Hi everyone! For those of you who have been admitted and have accepted your place, how much was the deposit to secure your position in the program? Thanks in advance!
I wonder if waitlisted students for spring who have applied for scholarships will receive anything! If anyone finds out then please let us know. If USC can offer me any financial aid I'll be attending the spring over UCLA.
I was waitlisted! I’m pretty sure I’ll be declining my waitlist position, partly because of my interview experience and because I feel like they weren’t honest with me about deferring from my acceptance last year (that’s a whole other story in itself), but mainly because the big scholarship body...
Hey pals! I’m one of the admitted MFA Screenwriting students (I’m a writer/director but wanted to focus on writing!).
I accidentally found out I’d been admitted a whole day before I got the email: I made a MyUCLA account and logged in to find it say ‘congrats on your admission!’
So if you...
Have you always had a Net ID? That only appeared last year for me right before decisions came out and was generally given to people who were either accepted or waitlisted!
So like there’s one number normally which is a university reference number for the application which everyone has, but...
Nothing on my end! I’ve been checking the portal religiously. Last year I saw my ID so I guessed I’d either been waitlisted or accepted and then Julia rang me a little while later with an acceptance! I’m assuming it would be the same or similar this year too :)
It looks like the dramatic writing MFA applicants have heard today! Last year I applied to both MFAs and I think I heard back from Grad Film first but on the same day. Guessing we could hear tomorrow maybe?
I agree! I think it’ll be next week 👀
I had wondered if they’ll come out a bit earlier because interview requests came out a week early but I guess not!
Excited to find out with y’all ☺️
Also, is anyone else going to the Zoom tomorrow night? It's 1am for me over here in the UK but I'm still going to go (with a lot of coffee!) Hope to see y'all there :)
Hey everyone! So I've joined the private forums on here for accepted applicants, and joined the UCLA private club (that's how everyone gets the button badge on their profile, if they request to be added to the club as an accepted applicant). I'm going to make a thread there for all accepted...
I think you're right, it was today or yesterday (remembered because of the leap year!). Last year we had interviews around this time and I heard back mid-March (interview requests were sent out a bit earlier this year though) so there's a chance we'll hear back in the next 2-3 weeks!
