I enjoyed the UCLA application! kind of awkward to write the project pitches but i ended up being very proud of what i wrote. just had the interview and i think it went really well. UCLA is my second choice program after AFI.
Hi everyone 😊
My name is Nicholas, I am an award winning film director from London, UK - and I am currently in my 2nd year on the Directing MFA at The American Film Institute. The film that me and my team are producing is called SOME KIND OF PARADISE, and tells the story of a lonely Arizona...
So far, I have only received interview from AFI producing program, The interview went very well! I haven't received the interview from USC ( film production--producer ) yet......😭 . But I've heard of any cases where they were admitted without interview! But I'm international student( China), I...
Since I am an alumni, I wasn’t worried. During the interview they asked me about why I wished to return when I could go anywhere else. I told them about Chapman’s strengths and how it is the most versatile of all film schools I’ve applied to because of the resources available to the students...
Very nervous.
Since this is my second time applying and my first time being interviewed I have a lot of hope but am also filled with anxious excitement.
Would love to hear how people’s interviews are going.
First time applying. Peter Stark does not require any film-based prerequisites or supplements. The application is heavily essay-based and will not require any short film/script/treatment.
First time post - sorry if I'm violating any sort of etiquette here.
I'm currently a law student at a decently high-ranked school, not in LA or NYC. I'm realizing that I think my major motivation for going to law school was to feel properly "educated" after an unimpressive undergrad experience...
Compared to other programs, I thought the Stark Program's application was more straightforward. In addition to the application, I had only one interview before being accepted.
I will be attending Chapman University's Television Writing and Producing program for Fall 2018. I am writing to LMU students specifically because the Fall 2018 class will be the first to go through the MFA program. Anyone who completed Chapman's BFA can chime in as well. I tried to communicate...
Boston University’s film program is defined by its Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degrees, which culminate in the Boston University Los Angeles (BULA) Program—a premier "study abroad" semester where students live in LA, take classes from industry...

We all want to make movies. We wouldn't be here if that wasn't the case. But making any movie, even a short can feel daunting no matter how much experience you have. Here's how I made my hopefully triumphant return to directing.
I'll start from the very beginning...
The Script - How did I...
Hello! I am so torn between USC and NYU. I want to work in the TV field as like a producer. I've always dreamed of living in New York and I absolutely love NYU's campus. Everything about it is just great. But, after I spend a few years in NYC, I plan on spending the rest of my life in LA county...
Hey guys,
I'm starting this thread by knowing I won't get a lot of answers since it is highly personal... However I hope that some people are stuck in the same case as mine :)
I have been accepted to UCLA and AFI both in Producing and I don't know which one to choose. Regarding fees, they...
